23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. - 1 John 2:23-25 (KJV)

You can not have the Father living in you, unless you have Jesus living in you (John 14:17), as Jesus said that He was the only way to the Father (John 14:6), so you can’t have one without the other. If you have believed in Jesus, then you have the Father (Romans 10:9-10) and are saved, as they are one (John 10:30). When you get born again, and baptized as Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:19), you get the entire Godhead in you, as the Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Ghost (Father), all come into you to live – Wow!

You need to continue in your faith that you are born again with, and that is the faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and not waver from the truth. If you do fall from Grace into thinking you must do works of the law to be right with God, then Jesus is of no benefit to you (Galatians 5:4). Just keep your faith the same as it was when you first got born again by the grace of God, as you didn’t deserve it, and you still can’t earn it, so keep your faith in the grace of God for salvation (Ephesians 2:8).

Most Christians think that eternal life means living forever, but everyone will live forever in one of two places (new earth or hell). Jesus came to this world to bring us back into fellowship with the Father (John 3:16), as that is what eternal life is (John 17:3), and it means a close, personal, relationship with the Father, and Jesus, and not just knowing about them. If you are not in close personal relationship with them, then you have missed the purpose of salvation. Thank you Father for wanting to fellowship with us, and loving us, so much.
