8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: 9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. - 1 Peter 3:8-9 (KJV)

The body of Christ, the church, should be of one mind, as we all are of one body, Jesus Christ. Why the churches are so divided, is hard to understand, as Paul also told us to be like minded (Philippians 2:2), and we all believe the same bible (God’s Word), so why do we have to have so many differences? I believe it is because we lack the love for our brethren, that is the problem, as if we would get full of God, we would be full of His love, as He is love (1 John 4:8). Jesus commanded us to love one another (John 13:34-35), and by this love, the world would know that we belong to Jesus. I suppose that is why the world doesn't know about Jesus, as we don’t follow His commands. We must obey Jesus to assure our eternal salvation (Hebrews 5:9).

We are to be a blessing to others, so that we will receive blessings from the Father. We Christians should always treat others as we would like them to treat us (Luke 6:31), and that includes those that hate us (1 Thessalonians 5:15). We should always bless, and curse not (Romans 12:14), and that is hard for us humans, but if you will die to yourself, and let Christ live through you, it is possible to do so. It takes God’s kind of AGAPE love to be able to love everyone, even those that hate us, but it is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) that all born again believers should have. You can do it, if you will walk after the Spirit, instead of the flesh. Thank you Lord for giving us the ability to follow your commands of love.
