15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. - Eph 5:15-16 (KJV)
The word “circumspect” means, “to take heed”, so this is telling us to be alert, and walk wisely in this life. We should always be aware as to how we live, as our lives might be the only light that some of those living in darkness will ever see, and we should live so our light will shine on them (Matthew 5:16). We should always attempt to not only live holy (1 Peter 1:16), but to live wisely, and the only way to do that, is to follow the example of Jesus, and live our lives for Him, or let Him live our lives through us. The best way, is just die to yourself, put Jesus on the throne of your life, and let Him live through you, so your life will be like His.
We should all make the most of the time we have on earth, as it will be over before you know it. As Paul said, our lives are just for a moment (2 Corinthians 4:17) in comparison to eternity, and that is so true. Live for the Lord this moment of life, and enjoy the benefits for eternity – what a trade that is. The days being evil are certainly true in this day and time, as every day the news is full of man’s evil acts, and it seems to be getting worse all the time. We certainly need to take advantage of every moment, and spread the true Gospel of Jesus Christ (Mark 16:15), to everyone that we can, so that they might have a chance to walk in the light with us, who are born again. The last thing that Jesus said would happen before the end comes, is that the Gospel would be preached throughout the world (Matthew 24:14), and that is happening now, so get ready, the end is near – praise God.
