I know price gouging is a sin, but there's an old saying "i cant make money off a christian but i cant lose money either". knowing this, would it be considered a sin to sell a house for a profit? i mean there is a line between selling a house for 500% over market and 25%, but i feel horrible at the thought of taking advantage of others

No. If your intent is to deliberately exploit people then that would be ethically compromising. Instead, you can meet in the middle and find a compromise that satisfies both parties. No one gets hurt, everyone wins.

Capitalism is a fair and honorable exchange. So long as both parties agree in good faith on the value of the exchange, it's not a sin.

Usury is the big sticking point for Christians.
