5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. - 1 John 2:5-6 (KJV)

This verse is not saying that if you keep God’s Word then the love of God will be perfected in you. It is saying that if the love of God is perfected in you, then you will keep His Word. If you have been born again, your “want to” has changed, and you will receive the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), which includes the AGAPE (God’s kind) of love. If you truly get filled with the love of God, you will be filled with God, as He is love (1 John 4:8). If you are full of the Holy Spirit of God, you will want to let it flow out of you toward others, and you will know you are in Him, and He is in you. Experiencing the fullness of God’s love is something that is beyond words to describe, as it is such a wonderful experience, but feeling the love flow out of you toward others, is even better.

If you say that you are born again, then the fruit of it should show in how you live your life, and how you love others and obey Jesus (Hebrews 5:9). If you truly were born again, you will want to live pure, as He is pure (1 John 3:3). If you hate your brother, and yet say that you love God, you are not telling the truth (1 John 4:20), as you can not hate your brother if you are full of God, who is love. If you have God in you by being born again, then you need to let that love flow out to others, as how we love one another, is how the world will know that we belong to Jesus (John 13:35). Let your light shine, and your love flow, and show this dark world a better way and a better day – praise God.
