According to Corinthians 7:8

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

I was using this to explain that I should not get remarried, and that whilst the concept of remarriage is allowed, it is only in the construct of being a sinner, who cant contain himself. Hence, it is better to simply not remarry if you can do it. However, they hit me back with the book of Ruth and Levirate customs. Except we dont really use those anymore, nor do we use Noahide laws. So then, my question is, what is meant by Corinthians 7:8? Did i misinterpret it?

edit: remmariage as a widower, and not divorced

I dont know, Corinthians implies remarriage is allowed but only because humans are not strong enough to walk a righteous path. It also states you shuold abstain if you can
