17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: - 1 Peter 1:17-19 (KJV)

What a wonderful thing it is, to know that our Father does not show respect of persons when he judges us. He looks at all of us the same and He loves us all the same, and judges us all the same, without any prejudice at all. The word “sojourning” means foreign residence, and we are to look at our lives as living in a foreign land (Hebrews 11:13, 1 Peter 2:11), as we, who are born again, are just passing through this life, to our home in heaven.

Someone paying money for us did not redeem us, but we were saved by the precious blood of Jesus, and redeemed from the sinful life that we inherited from our ancestors. There was no other way that we could have been totally redeemed from our sinful nature, except by the perfect Lamb, Jesus (1 Peter 2:22), coming to be our sacrifice, and cleanse us by His blood. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice, as He was free from all sins and transgressions, so that He could fulfill the entire law given through Moses (Matthew 5:17), and by doing so, He became righteous, and then imparted that righteousness to us who believe in Him (Romans 3:22). What a wonderful salvation we have, as we only have to believe (have faith in) Jesus, and what He did for us by grace (Ephesians 2:8), so we are saved by grace through faith. Praise God that we don’t have to do all the works of the law to earn our salvation, but only have to believe, as it is faith that pleases God (Hebrews 11:6). Thank you Jesus for your precious gift.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Romans 6 KJV

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3 KJV

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Revelation 14 KJV
