21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; - Eph 4:21-22 (KJV)

Paul has been teaching that these people should not walk as do the Gentiles do in the vanity of their minds (Ephesians 4:17), since they have heard the Holy Spirit teach them to be holy. The truth definitely is in Jesus, as He said that God’s word was truth (John 17:17), and Jesus only said what the Father told Him to say (John 14:10), therefore all that Jesus said was of the Father. Your words can not get any truer then when they come from God.

The sin nature died, if you are born again, and it is referred to as the “old man”, as it is what led us to sin, and trained us in our sinful ways. Even though the sin nature is dead, it left us with a mind that it had trained to serve sin, and a Christian will still sin sometimes (1 John 1:8). What Paul is teaching is that we need to put off our old lifestyle (conversation), and start walking after the Spirit, instead of the flesh. This is true of all of us Christians, as the devil will see to it that we are still tempted to sin. If we don’t keep our faith in Jesus strong, and our hearts free from all the worldly unbelief, we will fall for the devils lies, and he comes only to steal, kill and destroy us (John 10:10). If you are truly born again, you will have had your “want to” or desires of your heart, changed, and you will want to quit living in sin, and to live holy for the Lord (1 Peter 1:16). Know that you are a new creature when you are born again (2 Corinthians 5:17), and let the love of Christ flow through you, and let your light shine out into this dark world (Matthew 5:16). Get in the Spirit and do the works that Jesus did, and told us to do (John 14:12). Praise God for giving us the Holy Ghost to enable us to do just that.

Delusions, desires, beliefs, actions, habits, lifestyles outside of or contrary to God's will. God created a world where you have the ability to stray from his will but it is inevitable that certain things have consequences, so sin accompanies negative consequence, short term or long term, either on you, or your family/ offspring, or your community/ nation.

Amen friend.

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
