14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. - Romans 6:14-15 (KJV)

Something most Christians do not realize, is that sin was made alive by the law given through Moses (Romans 7:9), and the law revived sin in us, and slew us. This is not just talking about the Old Testament law, but it includes any works of the law, as being taught by many churches today. If you think you have to attend church, pay tithes, read your bible, and other works to be right with God, then you are under the law of works. Our sin nature died with Jesus, if you are born again, and sin has no more dominion over you. The grace of God has given us His righteousness through Jesus, so that we no longer must work to obtain self-righteousness under the law, but just accept what Jesus did, and put faith in the grace that He brought to us (Romans 5:2).

This grace of God (Gospel – Good News) always brings up the question of, since we now are under grace, can we just go live in sin? As Paul says here, God forbid, as he gives two reasons that we must not live in sin. One is that we no longer have this sin nature alive in us, so we should not live in sin (Romans 6:2). The second reason is that if we live in sin, we give the devil access to us (Romans 6:16), and the devil comes only to steal, kill and destroy us (John 10:10). God is no longer imputing our sins unto us, but if we sin, the devil will put it to us big time, with sickness, disease and all kinds of calamity, so don’t sin. If you truly have been born again, you will not want to sin, as your nature is changed, and you now want to live holy, as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). Praise God for His grace gifts, and letting us now live in His Sabbath Rest.
