1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? - Acts 5:1-3 (KJV)
I have heard this verse explained many different ways, with some saying that they were not really born again, but they couldn’t have lied to the Holy Ghost if they didn’t have Him, so they were born again. They were trying to claim giving all their proceeds from selling their land to the church, and were hiding some of it, so they could take advantage of the church. If you read my revelation on our web site page “New Revelations” you will see a modern day equivalent to this, and discover that it was blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, that brought the judgment of God upon them (Acts 5:5). Anamias’s wife also was struck dead by God, when she confirmed the lie (Acts 5:10).
What this new revelation taught me, was that even a born again Christian that commits blasphemy against the Holy Ghost (Matthew 12:31-32) can suffer the wrath of God, and be sent to hell. Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost can be refusing to obey what He tells you that you must do, or lying to Him, and also can be blaming God for the works of the devil, or giving the devil credit for works that God does. This would appear to make the doctrine of “Sovereignty of God” teaching very dangerous, as they teach that God controls everything, and that is blaming God for acts of the devil. Take the time to read our web page, and you will discover that there are several revelations that were certainly new to me, and I think they will be new to you also. Praise God for the Holy Ghost to reveal these things to us.
