20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. - Matt 28:20 (KJV)
Jesus has been instructing His disciples to go into the entire world and teach the Gospel, and get people born again and made disciples. Jesus makes it clear that we are to make disciples (teaching) out of the people who accept Him, and not just converts. Most evangelistic efforts that get large numbers of people to confess Jesus as their Savior do not follow up and teach them the Word. That leaves a large number of people who believe they are saved, and yet don’t know what the commands of Jesus are. They must be taught to observe all things that Jesus has commanded, and not just be born again. As Jesus says, if you continue in my word, are you my disciples indeed (John 8:31). It is not enough to be born again and stuck.
If we are doing what Jesus commanded us to do, then He promises to be with us always, even to the end of the world. What did Jesus tell us to do? We are to love God above all, and love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39), and we are to do the works that He did (John 14:12), as well as go into the whole world and teach the Gospel (Matthew 28:19). Before doing any of these things, you need to first make yourself a living sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1), and renew your mind with the Word of God (Romans 12:2). Do these things, and assure your salvation by living a life dedicated, out of love, to the Lord (Hebrews 5:9). Praise God for His goodness and mercy.
