I'm still searching for some Awake Church Members. I don't know if there are any other than myself.

I was married to a mormon. I read the Book of Mormon, the Doctrines & Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price. I've spent hours talking to missionaries & visiting teachers and attending priesthood meetings.

"As man is, God once was. As God is, man may become."

The mormon church teaches that God was once a man, but by leading a perfect life he earned Godhood over his own world, to populate with his spirit children.

But there wasn't a single member of authority that would say that this has only been achieved once. Ostensibly, others have done so, and were given dominion over their own worlds.

Now, since mormonism says it is monotheistic, it doesn't encourage the worship of those other gods. Just the god of this world.

The bible is very clear on who the god of this world is. The God of the Bible is the god of all creation. The prince of air is the god of this world.

So this is just a new riff on the fruit of the tree of knowledge. "God doesn't want you to eat it, because you would become like him" said the serpent. The god of this world offered Jesus the same thing in the desert.
