30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. - Matt 22:30 (KJV)

This statement lets us know more about our resurrected bodies, when Jesus comes again, and we become like Him. Since we will be like the angels, and not marry, means that we will no longer have children, so the ones that are born again, and are resurrected into life, will be the total population of the new earth, unless God does another species. If you are having a difficult marriage during this life, this may well be very good news, as you will know that it is only for a while that you are married.

This same fact was also quoted in other books of the Bible (Mark 12:25 & Luke 20:36), and is in answer to the Sadducees, a group that did not believe in the resurrection of the dead. Jesus makes it clear that they were in error (Matthew 22:29), and that there would be a resurrection of the dead. He proved His point when He said that when God spoke to Moses out ot the burning bush, He said I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob (Matthew 22:32). He didn’t say I was the God, but that I am the God, of the living. This was in the Old Testament Scriptures, but had been overlooked by the Sadducees, and the revelations that Jesus gave of the Scriptures were so awesome. Of course He knew them well, as He wrote them through the prophets. Praise God for His Word, and the Holy Spirit to quicken it to us.
