5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. - Heb 13:5-6 (KJV)
When the bible uses the word “conversation”, it is not just talking about what you say, but means your lifestyle, or otherwise your actions. A born again Christian should never be coveting things, as covetousness is idolatry (Colossians 3:5). When you desire something strongly, it is the same as worshiping an idol. So many people today, worship the things they have or want, instead of placing all their worship on God. This should not be so. The fact that God will never leave us, nor forsake us, should make us content with life, and with what we have.
Knowing that God is always with us gives the born again person the boldness to trust in Him, and not be afraid of what man can do to him. When we rest in the love of God, we will not fear man, as perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and fear has torment, so this is why we have such peace when we know God is with us. Knowing God in an intimate way (John 17:3), and resting in His love, brings peace and joy to the believer that is impossible to put into words. Believe in Jesus, and rest in God’s “AGAPE” love, and you will experience all the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Thank you Lord for loving us, and giving us, so very much.
