20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. - 1 Cor 15:20-22 (KJV)
Praise God that Jesus did rise from the dead (Mark 16:6), and His being the first fruits of resurrection, means that we will all rise again (John 5:29), either unto life or damnation. Some try to teach that only the born again will rise from the dead, but that is not what the bible teaches, as we all shall rise again.
God created man to live forever, but when Adam sinned, he brought in death to mankind, and gave dominion of the earth to the devil, who then had the power of death over us (Hebrews 2:14). God had to become a man (Jesus) before He could defeat the devil, and return the power of death to Himself. Since death came by a man (Adam) who sinned, then resurrection of the dead had to come by a man (Jesus) who was righteous (1 Peter 2:21-22). Praise God that He conquered death, so that we might be resurrected into life with Him.
Since Adam sinned and brought death to mankind, Jesus came to restore eternal life to us (John 17:2) who believe in Him, and eternal life is to know (in an intimate way) both God and Jesus (John 17:3). Jesus did so much more than just forgiving us of our sins, as He defeated the devil, obtained resurrection from the dead, and brought us all the Spiritual Gifts of the Holy Spirit. He made us part of Himself, gave us eternal inheritance, and so much more, like healing, prosperity, deliverance from the devil, etc. Wow – How very blessed we are, who have accepted Jesus as our Savior.
