2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. - Heb 12:2-3 (KJV)

Jesus is the beginning (author) and ending (finisher) of our faith, as He is the Lamb of God (John 1:29) sent to be our sacrifice – Praise God. His sacrifice was what brought the New Covenant into being (Church Age), and our faith has to be in Jesus for us to be born again (John 14:6), as He is the only way to the Father. Jesus was able to devalue (despising) the shame of becoming sin for us, so that He looked at the joy He was bringing to us as being more important than His own life – Wow!

If we keep our mind upon Jesus, and what He endured for us, and the rejection that He suffered, we can keep from being wearied and faint in our minds. Notice that our fainting is in our minds. It is not really what befalls us on the outside, but it is how we let it affect our minds. If we stay focused on Jesus, and on the positive things in this life, we can control how we feel in our minds. How we think in our hearts, is how we will be (Proverbs 23:7). Our world today has given over to letting feelings be the controlling factor in most people’s lives, and that is not the way it should be. You can control your feelings if you truly try to. It is not how you feel that matters, it is what you are and do that matters. If you let your feelings guide you through life, you will be up and down like a yo-yo. If you will keep your mind on God’s Word, you will have only peace (Isaiah 26:3). Thank you Lord for your Word.
