15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? - Romans 6:15-16 (KJV)

The proper teaching on the Grace of God will cause this question to be asked many times, as if all our sins are paid for, why not live in sin? Paul tells us why in the next few verses, and the fact is that the Grace of God constrains us to live holy (Titus 2:12), and not to sin.

This is one of two reasons that the Grace of God does not cause us to live in sin, as if you do you give the devil access to your life, and he comes only to steal, kill and destroy you (John 10:10). The devil loves to have access to you, and will put sickness, poverty, fear, depression, etc., in your life, and you don’t want to give him that opportunity. The other reason is that if you were truly born again, your sin nature was replaced by the righteousness of Jesus, and you should now have no desire to sin (Romans 6:2), but to live a holy life for Jesus. This doesn’t mean you won’t sin occasionally, but if you want to just live in sin, then you probably were not truly born again, as it changes your “want to”. Anyone who says they are born again, and still desires to live a sinful life, doesn’t even know God (John 3:9). We all sin, but the born again Christian will turn from it, and repent, and try to live for our Lord (1 Peter 1:15). Praise God that He is so loving and forgiving of us, His children.

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1 John 3 KJV

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Exodus 20 KJV
