Daily Devotional

April 28

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. - 1 John 5:14-15 (KJV)

The first thing we must have to receive from God is this confidence in Him, and we must have the faith that He not only hears us, but that He rewards them that seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). You must exhibit faith to have confidence, as we must believe in God, who we can not perceive with our five physical senses, and we can only do that by faith. We must ask according to God’s will, and you can only know His will by studying His Word (Romans 12:2), as that is His will. Praying for something and then saying “if it be your will” is not the proper way, but you must study God’s Word, and know His will when you pray. Many times we pray, and don’t receive, because we pray for something that is not God’s will (James 4:3).

You must have faith, and believe that when you pray, that God hears your prayer, and if you ask in faith, and believe you receive when you pray (Matthew 21:22) in accordance with His will, then you will receive. Many times God doesn’t answer our prayers, because He loves us, and doesn’t want to give us anything that will hurt us. Sometimes we pray for stupid things, and praise God He doesn’t answer them. Our loving Father wants only the best for His children (James 1:17), and He knows what is best for us. Just know that He always hears the prayers of His children, and He will bless us in all things through His abundant Grace and Love. Praise God for His wonderful love.
