I've read that the gene developed in the european hunter gather group that was there before the middle eastern farmers showed up. I've also read that it was from the yamnaya who displaced nearly 100% of the males from the middle eastern farmers later. Not sure id heard it developed multiple times in different groups before, but I certainly wouldn't doubt it. I mean if the saber tooth tiger can develop and go extinct multiple times, blues should be able to develop multiple times also. I am pretty skeptical that blue evolved only 10k years ago however.

It never developed in multiple groups. It is a common ancestor. The only real issue is they don't take it far enough back in time but that's because of limitations in genetic sampling.

All blue eyed people are related if you go far enough back. There is no evidence which even hints otherwise.
