I don't think penicillin would be considered pharmakeia; isn't it just naturally occurring bacteria?

God gave us natural medicine. Wouldn't it be unjust if all of the prior generations of God's people were left in the dark without 'modern medicine'?

I do believe there is a place for modern medicine, but pharmaceuticals are not medicine, and certainly do not cure anything. Only the body can cure itself. Everything else can only help create the environment for the body to heal - natural remedies tend to be far superior in providing such an environment.
