11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. - Eph 6:11-12 (KJV)
We, who are born again, have been given power over the devil, but we have to put on the whole armour of God (Ephesians 6:14-17), before we can be protected from him. Notice that we have to stand against the wiles of the devil, and not any power. Jesus stripped Satan of all his power when he rose from the dead (Matthew 28:18), and Satan only has deception and lies now to try and steal, kill, and destroy us (John 10:10). Satan now comes at us as a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8), but he has no teeth, as Jesus pulled them all. Satan’s only power against us Christians is deception.
Us Christians do not fight against any physical forces of evil, but it is all a spiritual battle against the different spirits of evil. We should not ever get mad at people, as they are not the problem, but it is the evil forces working through them that we are fighting against. Our battle is not with evil people, but with the evil forces. Jesus tells us to love those that hate us (Matthew 5:44), but we are to hate the evil working through them. Us humans find it hard to control our anger against people who come against us, but the secret is to walk in the spirit, and realize that it is not the person that is the problem, but the evil spirit that is working in them. By dying to yourself, and letting Christ live through you, you can operate in the fruit of the spirit within you (Galatians 5:22-23), if born again, and let the love of God work in your life, instead of hate and anger. Praise God for giving us victory over the devil.
