5 Chapters a day will get you through the entire Old Testament in less than a year.
I find the OT turgid and inaccessible. Would it not make more sense to start with the NT? I like reading Jesus's words, the parables and so on.
get a reference Bible. things said in the NT are references to others in the Old. prophecy and such.
The Old Testament is all about the Law and the journey of God's people and His plan to rescue those that love Him. It also reveals the character of God and the many promises He has given us. It can be hard to understand at times and can also be used by the deceiver to make us question God. All of the Old Testament can be better understood with the foundation of love. The law is slowly fading away, as it is being replaced by grace and mercy for all who believe in Jesus Christ.
But you must know couldmakeitup begat cantmakeitup, and cantmakeitup begat wontmakeitup!
Seriously though, God bless all of you this day and all days to come. Best thread I’ve read on here in a while.
Personally I stayed in the NT for years. When you've finally got the New Covenant understood then you can start going back and seeing how the Old and New compliment one another. They all point to Jesus either way, but since we're under the New Covenant now it's important to fully understand how we are saved by Grace through faith.
