Happy Easter

April 4

32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth. 33 Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife. - Prov 30:32-33 (KJV)

The Proverbs are so very wise, and all Christians should study them, and learn from them. If we would follow the directions given in these sayings, we would be much wiser than our fellow citizens. If you, through pride, have said something foolish, or had evil thoughts, the best thing you can do, is to not say anything. The mouth is a small part of the body, but can start a large fire (James 3:5). It is a wise person that knows when to shut up, and not speak. Life and death are in the words we speak (Proverbs 18:21), and it also applies to the words that we hear. You should be very careful of what you say, and also what you listen to, as the words we say have a large influence upon our lives, as well as others. Watch your mouth.

Just as churning milk makes butter, and wringing the nose makes it bleed the words of wrath brings forth strife. We truly need to not speak words of contention, and if we follow the commands of Jesus and love one another (Matthew 22:37-40), we will not be speaking words that bring on wrath. If you truly die to yourself, and let Christ live through you, it will cause you to be careful and not ever say things that offend others. The only time that Jesus spoke words of condemnation were to the self-righteous Pharisees, Scribes and Lawyers, and never to sinners. Jesus came to make righteous those that were lost, and to condemn those that were self- righteous (Matthew 9:13). Thank you Father for such a wonderful plan of salvation.
