64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. - John 6:64-65 (KJV)
What a shame it is, that there are many people in the church today that do not really believe in their hearts on Jesus. It is impossible for us to know just how many there are in our churches that are not believers, but Jesus taught that there would be many tares among the wheat (Matthew 13:24-30). We are not to try to weed them out of our churches, as we might also reject some that do believe. We are to just keep preaching the Gospel, and teaching God’s Word, and they will fall away on their own. When Jesus comes again, the Angels will go and pull out all those unbelievers out of the church (Matthew 13:41-42), so we need not worry about it. Many times our churches become like social clubs to attract more people, and that leads to many coming to church for the wrong reasons.
This is an awesome truth, that no one can come to Jesus except the Father draws him (John 6:44). This is why it is so very important that one accepts salvation when the Holy Spirit draws them, as if you don’t respond at that time, you may not ever get another chance. There is coming a time in your life, that the Holy Spirit will quit trying to draw you toward salvation (Genesis 6:3), so it is important that you not postpone your responding to His call. There are many that don’t recognize any of the benefits of walking with the Lord in this life, but think it only applies to the afterlife, and that is not so (John 10:10). Religion has been bad to not place any emphasis on the benefits that Christianity brings to our present life, making people think that it is not important to them now. We should teach the truth at all times – not just what people want to hear. Praise God for His Word!
