“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.” ‭‭John‬ ‭5:22-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Interesting. So the Father has chosen to delegate His judgmental authority to His Only Begotten Son. That not only makes sense, but is fitting, since it was the Son who suffered at the hands of the people of this world.

The principle of delegation of authority is an eternal principle. We first saw it addressed in the Old Testament, when Jethro introduced Moses to it. Jethro saw the Moses was wearing himself out judging the people, so he convinced Moses to appoint subordinate leaders. See Exodus 18:13-24.

I agree, and thank you for the well thought out comment. The name of God has typically been translated to mean I am, but I’ve heard it more accurately means I will be; and given the He was in a present state saying His name, the I am is a logical condition. It definitely exemplifies his steadfast nature; so it is never a surprise to see thematic elements occurring over and over throughout the Bible. It’s always a blessing to find them. Thanks for sharing this one!
