Hermes who they regard as 'teacher of mankind' was said to have recovered the sacred writings of antediluvian (preflood) era and brought to Egypt. He is the originator of pagan idolatry and the worship of the gods, or communication with evil spirits that revived after the Deluge(flood). Many gods and goddesses are convoluted and overlap but they trace back to the same deified humans - Ham (Ammon), Cush (Hermes) and Nimrod (Osiris).
