32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. - Matt 10:32-33 (KJV)
All born again Christians should live their lives, both in actions and speech, that will show that we have the Lord living inside us and let our light shine (Matthew 5:16). We should never fail to tell people about the Lord, and what all He has done for us. We should share the Gospel (Mark 16:15), with all those we are in contact with, and acknowledge Him in all we do. When we show and tell the world about our Lord, we are confessing that He is in us, and that we are living for Him. When we acknowledge Jesus before others, then He will acknowledge us before the Father in heaven, so we must be sharing the Good News with others at all times. Our very salvation depends upon our obeying the Lord (Hebrews 5:9).
None of us want Jesus to deny us before the Father, so all us Christians need to always acknowledge our Lord in all we say and do. This same truth is said in other Scriptures (2 Timothy 2:12-13). If people can not tell you are a Christian, then you are not living a life that will honor God, and you need to change. It should be evident by how you live and talk (1 Peter 4:11), that Jesus Christ is living within you. God looks on our hearts and not our outward actions (1 Samuel 16:7), so He knows His children. Us humans tend to look on the outward actions of people, so we must let the born again spirit live through us, and die to ourselves, so that Christ will be evident in our lives. We need to live as holy a life as possible, because He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). The greatest expression of Christ living in us is to show His kind of love to others, and He and the Father will love us (John 14:21). If Christ is in us, how can we not love others, for God is love (1 John 4:8)? The fruit of salvation is love and obedience to Jesus. Praise God for His love for us!
