32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. - Eph 4:32 (KJV)

All of us, who have been born again, have the fruit of the Spirit living inside us at all times (Galatians 5:22-23). If we will let these qualities live through us, by walking after the Spirit, then we will not find it hard to be kind to others and tenderhearted. If you have never received the love of God yourself, you will find it impossible to show unconditional love to others, as it goes against human nature. You can not give away what you don’t have, and God is love (1 John 4:8). Forgiving others is something that Jesus taught throughout His ministry here on earth (Matthew 6:14), and it is a requirement for us to do the same. Jesus taught that if you don’t forgive others, the Father will not forgive you (Mark 11:26). It is not an option, but necessary for the Christian to walk in forgiveness to others, and obey the commands of Jesus (Hebrews 5:9).

If we will keep in mind just how much God has forgiven us, we will be led to forgive those that offend us. Jesus was our creator (Ephesians 3:9), and the Father has given us forgiveness for Jesus sake. Do we owe a debt to Jesus or what? To think that Jesus has bought us out of certain damnation, and slavery to the devil, to instead, not only forgive us, but also give us all the Grace Gifts (Ephesians 1:3). If we just can keep in mind what God, through Jesus, has done for us, then we should be able to forgive anyone that offends us. No one can come close to being as offensive to us, as we were to God, and yet He gave us total forgiveness. Wow – that is the (AGAPE) kind of God’s love, and how we should be toward others – always! Praise God.
