12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. - Romans 5:12-13 (KJV)

Adam, the first man, brought sin into the world when he disobeyed God, and ate of the tree of good and evil, and that brought death into the world (Genesis 3:6). Because of this original sin, death passed upon all men, as ever since the original sin, we have all been born with a sin nature, and therefore are born sinners, before we ever commit a sin of our own. For a person to say he is not a sinner, who has not been born again, is not telling the truth (1 John 1:8), as all are born that way. Adam’s original sin brought corruption into the whole world, and caused the perfect world that God had made, to become corrupt. This includes the plant and animal life, as man was made god of this world (Genesis 1:28), and when he sinned, the whole world suffered the consequence of sin (Romans 8:20-22).

This is an amazing statement, which most people do not understand, as religion has taught that God turned against mankind when Adam sinned, and would not fellowship with us anymore. This is not what the bible teaches, as God continued to walk and talk with mankind after Adam’s transgression. God did not reject mankind, but sent them from the Garden of Eden to keep them from eating from the tree of life and living forever in a fallen state (Genesis 3:22-23). God was still talking with Cain and Able (Genesis 4:6), and had not withdrawn from mankind. Under our New Covenant, the law was nailed to the cross along with Jesus (Colossians 2:14), so the law is no longer in effect. This verse tells us that before the law, and after the law (now), that sin is not imputed unto mankind. Jesus paid it all, and we are no longer under the law or having our sins imputed to us – Praise God – Thank you Jesus!

There is a good reason why our Heavenly Father continued to fellowship Adam and his brood after the Fall, but you may find a more concise explanation in the Book of Mormon. From Nephi 2:25:

Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.

This implies that the Fall was anticipated by the Father and that the Father still considered Adam to be worthy of divine fellowship. It also means that had Adam and Eve not partaken of the Tree of Knowledge, their bodies would not have become mortal, and thus they would not have been able to procreate and start the process of providing mortal bodies for all of us.

Many Christians are apprehensive about the Book of Mormon because of the manner in which it was brought forth. I assure you that the Book of Mormon neither corrects nor supersedes the Bible, but stands as a worthy companion to the Bible. Just as the Bible is a witness for Christ, the Book of Mormon is also a witness for Christ. So you have two separate scriptorial sources witnessing for Jesus Christ. You don't have to become a Mormon to read the Book of Mormon -- you just have to have an open mind and believe that there is no limit as to how, when, and where the Father can declare His word.
