The "placement" of Satan, by God, on earth.

[–] 1 pt

Or “cast out into the earth”

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Revelation 12 KJV

That's an even better reference than Luke 10:18.

Luke 10:18 alludes to this point.

Luke 10:18. And he [Jesus] said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

When Lucifer came out in open rebellion against the Father, the Father thrust him down into this world and re-named him Satan. He was joined by the third part of our fellow spirits who didn't have the guts to support the Father's plan of salvation, which required that we come down here and take upon ourselves a tabernacle of flesh. Because of the veil that has been drawn between the spirit world and the physical world, Satan and his hosts are normally invisible to us.
