Daily Devotional

February 13

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. - Psalms 103:12 (KJV)

Praise God for the New Testament Covenant that we are now living under. God is saying that He will no longer impute our sins and transgressions unto us, and He will remember them no more – Wow! If we can just believe this, how great would our love for the Father become, as He has completely forgiven His children of all their transgressions. This verse was spoken under the Old Covenant, but it is for us today (Romans 4:6-8). God can not lie (Titus 1:2), so when He makes a promise like this, He will keep it, and never hold our sins against us again. Jesus paid it all, and we, who are born again, will never have to pay for our own sins and transgressions – Praise God. Through Jesus, we not only have our sins forgiven, but we have been given all the Grace gifts that we didn’t, and still don’t, deserve on our own merits (Ephesians 1:3).

As the Word says, we should no longer be conscious of sins (Romans 8:1), yet the churches by far, are still teaching works that we must do to be in right standing with God. They have completely missed the Lord’s Rest (Hebrews 4:10-11) that we are now in, and are still making Christians sin conscious and teaching that God’s blessings depend on our actions (works). That is just not what the bible teaches, and when God looks upon us, He sees Jesus, as we are the body of Jesus, and have His Spirit within us (Galatians 4:6). God does not respond to what we do, as long as we obey Him (Hebrews 5:9), but to what we believe, as He looks upon our hearts (1 Samuel 16:7). We will want to live holy, as He is holy (1 Peter 1:15), just because we love Him, and not to try and earn right standing with Him. You must live holy to keep Satan from destroying you, as Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). Thank you Jesus for redeeming us and bringing us back into fellowship with the Father (John 17:3)!

Why don't you put a piece of the puzzle on the title to draw the thirsty souls in, instead of just a boring date.

I consider the "devotional" on God's Word as being the biggest draw. If one has to be enticed to read His Word, then something is wrong. Thanks for the comment and God Bless - Love, Pastor Joe.

God does not respond to what we do, as long as we obey Him

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Thanks for the comment - If our actions are done because we love God, then they are good, but if they are done trying to obtain something from Him, they are works of the law. It is all the attitude of the heart that matters to the Father. Thanks for all your posting and work for the Lord. Love, Pastor Joe.
