Yes, and yes it's incredibly petty on it's face and seems laughably trivial. But you have to understand that from my point of view, you're (collectively) trying to sell me on something that is purported to be the direct word (stenographers don't count) of thee all powerful and perfect (although arguably not a perfect communicator...) creator of creation. I'm going to be particular.
I guess I don’t see the link. Nowhere in the creation account did it say God rested on the seventh day because he was faint and weary; just that His creation work was complete.
Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
