8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: - 2 Cor 9:8 (KJV)
The previous verse is talking about being a cheerful giver to the Kingdom of God, and that you must sow seed, before you can expect a harvest (2 Corinthians 6-7). This verse is a continuation of that thought, and says that God “is able” to make all grace abound toward us, when we are a cheerful giver to the Lord. The Lord does not just give all that we desire, no matter how we use it, or no matter how we are serving Him, but will provide our needs when we are serving Him. A person, who is not serving the Lord, will not reap a harvest, as he has not planted any seeds (giving). You must give of your time and money to the Lord (plant seeds), before you can expect a harvest. God is not a cheapskate and He will provide well for those who are serving Him.
God gives to us, so we can give to others as well as for our own use. It is written that He will bless us, so that we can be a blessing to others (Genesis 12:2). It is a truth that all God wants to do for others, He will have to flow through His people to get it done. God does not give money or things directly to His people, but will have men give things to them, as He must flow through people (Ephesians 3:20). The “Sovereignty of God” teachings that are prevalent now in the body of Christ, teaches that God controls everything that happens in this world, and that He can just do anything. That is not true, and is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 12:31-32), as God gave man a free will (Deuteronomy 30:19), and gave man dominion over this earth (Genesis 1:26), and He will not go against what He has said. He gives to us so that we can accomplish His will upon this earth, but He does not force us to do so – Praise God for His integrity!
