1 John 2: 26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing (holy spirit) which ye have received of him abides in you,

and YE NEED NOT THAT ANY MAN TEACH YOU: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

Is doing righteousness, doing sin?

[–] 2 pts (edited )

For our righteousness is but filthy rags.

Sin is transgression of God's law. Jesus is the sinless one; without transgression.

Therefore he is the only one who can be righteous.

If anyone does righteousness, it is only Jesus's righteousness done through them.

Even our repentance is not ours; it is the imaparted repentance given through the Father.

Sin is the only thing that we do that is our own.

Your response shows that you do not understand the baptism. What it MEANS and DOES.

Baptism is your Death to sin and resurrection to newness of life - receiving a new spirit.
Romans 6: 1 What shall we say then? Shall WE CONTINUE IN SIN, that grace may abound? 2 GOD FORBID. How shall WE, THAT ARE DEAD TO SIN, live any longer therein? (how can we sin when it is dead in us?) 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore WE ARE BURIED with him by baptism into DEATH: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so WE also should walk in NEWNESS of life.

This is NOW, in this lifetime. Not after your physical death. 7 For HE THAT IS DEAD IS FREED FROM SIN. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

IF you have been baptized into Jesus Christ? You are freed from sin - FOR REAL, Jesus is not an AA meeting. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Romans 8: 11 But IF THE SPIRIT of him that raised up Jesus from the dead DWELL IN YOU, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also QUICKEN YOUR MORTAL BODIES by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

You are free from sin NOW, in this lifetime. That is the new covenant and the teaching that NO ONE has the courage to profess. This teaching is too offensive.

The sin of adultery illustrates baptism and your marriage to Christ...

The Story of the Bride is linked to the adulterous. Here is understanding… Before coming to Christ we were married to sin, what people like to lovingly refer to as “our human nature”.

But after coming to Christ and baptism of the holy spirit, we are NOT just divorced from sin, meaning that old spouse still lives in us… But that old spouse of sin is DEAD…

We are then a widow that can lawfully remarry… Once our old spouse sin nature is dead, we are free to marry Christ and become one with him in HIS New Nature of Holiness.

So if you continue in sin once coming to Christ ye are an adulterer/adulteress, because your old spouse is still alive and well and not dead.

You are correct and right on! My point wasn't that it is impossible to do no sin, but that it wasn't our doing. It is through Jesus Christ that we no longer sin. All glory given where glory is due.

Every day we must bludgeon the old man of lusts and sin, killing him daily to be reborn through Jesus Christ each day.

There is a physical baptism displayed publicly in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and a daily personal 'baptism' to overcome our old nature that keeps trying to surreptitiously root back into our heart.
