A Christian is a person who follows the teachngs and example of Jesus. That's it. That's all there is to it.

It has nothing to do with ceremonies invented centuries after the death of Jesus. It has nothing to do with wine, or wafers. It has nothing to do with folklore borrowed from figures in Greek literature, such as Apollonius. It has nothing to do with the Bible. It has nothing to do with baptism. It has nothing to do with the cross. It has nothing to do with special days, or special houses of worship. It has nothing to do with some kind of magical "being saved."

If you know what Jesus said and did, and if you emulate him and follow his teachings, you are a Christian.

Be modest and kind. Help others. Love them as you love yourself. Treat them as you wish to be treated by them. Return reason for hatred. Forgive your enemies. Follow the ten commandments. Use the Lord's Prayer.

communion and baptism are considered sacraments because they are ordained by the early church

Are communion and baptism part of what is called dogma?

yes its dogma and practice by christians

jesus told his disciples to commemorate his death by taking holy communion which after his resurrection was called "agape feasts"

baptism doesnt save you but its a sign that you are saved and ditto for communion

Sure, but what are they, really? Play-acting. Did Jesus say we needed them? No, he didn't. What Jesus said was that we no longer needed to be bound by the old religious customs if we followed him. That's what makes a real Christian, not ceremonies. I will hazard to suggest that most of the people who think they are Christians, and who think they are saved, are neither, because they don't follow the teachings of Jesus in their own lives.

Do you want to be saved? I want to be saved. Do you accept Jesus into your heart? I do, I do, I do. Then you're saved, boy. Go forth and commit whatever acts of fornication, lying cheating, violence, corruption, perversion you want, because when you die you are going to heaven.

How can anyone believe this? Jesus said, if you want to be saved, do what I do, and do what I tell you to do. Accepting him into your heart is beside the point. If you don't accept him into your heart, you are unlikely to follow his teachings, aren't you? But its your attitude and behavior toward other human beings that matters. That's what makes you Christian.

but yes you are saved by the hearing the word and by believing the gospel but baptism and communion are sacraments that are instituted among those who believe

Yes, that's what you'll get in my posts, my opinion. Quoting scripture has never struck me as a useful thing to do. I know that my opinions disagree with standard Roman Catholic and Prostatant dogma, but they are my opinions, not just echoes of the opinions of dead men. I approach Christ seeking truth.
