If you believe the bible, god has already proven he wants to destroy us. He created us with the inherent need to be destroyed. He made us imperfect, and then suffer the consequences of those imperfections. That's sadistic.

Also, if we're viewing Jesus through the trinity (i was raised catholic) I never thought of what he did as a sacrifice. He was guaranteed a seat in heaven, eternal bliss for a few shitty years is a nice trade. Now had he been sent to hell for mans sins, I would consider that a sacrifice.

He was sent to hell (Sheol) which means the grave. He wasn’t guaranteed a spot in Heaven either. He was here in the flesh, and tempted by Satan as well as challenged by men, attempting to trap him. That means, unlike Catholicism teaches, man can be born sinless; even if he’s the only example of it.

If the grave is the only punishment, so be it. It wont change the fact that I have no reason to bow down.

I understand. I was mentally weak once as well. I blamed everyone and everything around me for the problems in my life, and thought I was solely responsible for digging myself out of the mess they put me in.

One day, out of the blue, God called me out. He showed me that I am the source of my troubles; and try as I may, I’ll never be able to save myself. I stopped blaming others, and instead, changed my interactions. I started reflecting on the situations I allowed myself to be in. Most importantly, I humbled myself before God and was finally ready to learn about him in earnest. I pray that might be you someday as well. Cheers bro.
