I use to think that. Kids are more aware these days. They see the favoritism. They see people working hard and then losing everything and it destroying families. It is more common. They witnessed their family work themselves to the bone. Mom divorced dad because he yelled at her. They've been shown if you take responsibility then you take all the blame. Most of them start at the bottom and it's hard for the bottom to rise today. They see personal achievement differently. They've been alone so much. Having a friend or loving themselves(non sexual) is an achievement to them. I get it now. I worked my ass to bone. They are not interested in being Sisyphus for someone else's bad decision.
