That is horrifying.

Lots of shit in America is just fake looking shit.. Ceasars palace in Las Vegas is a bunch of plaster that looks like stone... so u have a steal sub structure then you put a light weight brick thing on the outside to make it look like stone..

Probably not a big deal if the steal substructure is strong

[–] 3 pts

It certainly is light weight, all right. They got that part down pat. But on Thursdays, it rains facades in China.

Okay? Excellent. Your point is retarded as fuck. Do the "Fake Maerican structures" disintegrate to touch? No. They do not.

[–] 0 pt

We have building codes that are written in blood. China doesn’t have the same sense of self respect or respect for human life.

[–] 0 pt

I'm not saying it's the same just saying American shit is not what it appears either.. houses built here in the 80s the siding is falling apart it was shit.

I'm sure China is much worse but if this stuff is just a facade it's not as bad as it looked in the video

This is a theory btw not saying 100% maybe it is a giant ponzi scheme and it's literaly smoke and mirrors to make investors think real buildings are going up I've heard shit like that is going on. I also saw a show where everything is being built by outsiders Australians and German companies getting paid big time to build in china

Paper bricks, paper tiger.

Americans build cardboard houses.

[–] 0 pt

Really? How come there’s no videos going around of our cardboard house is falling apart?

Are you one of those Europeans that is jealous that we were smart enough not to cut down all our trees at once, so now we can still build shit out of wood?

[–] 0 pt

Wow. That's amazing, that anyone, even a lowly Chinese coolie, could think this was a good idea. Some things, you can't cut corners on. The Chinese don't appear to have learned this lesson.

[–] 0 pt

Is that necessarily a bad thing? People of southern Europe sometimes make similar jokes about the structures found more in the north because in the south they use massive bricks for everything while in the north is more wood and dry walls. The Chinese should fill those bricks with some insulation material though.

[–] 0 pt

Yes. It is LITERALLY a bad thing. Why the fuck are you asking that? How can you not see. They disintegrate to touch.

[–] 0 pt

Those particular blocks are obviously faulty. That doesn't mean the construction method doesn't work. But I don't know much about construction anyways so let's see what the trademen here have to say.

hollow blocks of plaster and fiberglass weave

Those aren't strong. Those would work as a living room table. For about 12 hours until it disintegrates.

[–] 0 pt

It's plaster. What happens to plaster when it gets wet?

[–] 0 pt

Nothing. Plaster and drywall are NOT the same thing. Plaster and joint compound/spackle are not the same thing. Plaster is much harder and weather resistant. There is outdoor plaster called render. It is pretty much cement with a much finer grain.

A Potemkin village, very much actually a house of cards.

[–] -1 pt

The fiber in concrete has been around for years. It's the strongest in recorded history. The hollow blocks are not used for load-bearing

disintegrates to human touch strongest in recorded history

Fuck off.
