Scientists "discover" what anyone involved in animal husbandry, or just an average pet owner, has known for millennia; Animal's emotional state can be discerned via vocalizations. Thanks "docs." We were all in the dark but have now had the veil lifted to reveal the glorious clucking light.

Only thirty years ago mainstream argued most all animals have no emotions, they can't think, and simply exist as organisms which react to environmental stimuli. Nothing more. Nothing less. By extension, it was widely believed and taught there can be no meaningful communication and everything they do is learned behavior akin of Pavlov's dog. "The science was settled."

they are attaching emotions to chickens so they can tell you to stop eating chicken and to eat the bugs, bugs have no verbalized emotions
