Once they go feral their flight feathers and tusks grow back in and then they become much more aggressive. They're still hanging around because they're whispering to your other chickens through the wire at night, suborning them, turning them against you. Watch their eyes when you come around. Do they all suddenly stop clucking and turn and watch you until you leave? Sleep light and keep your shotgun handy friend.
