That's 2017 before Brave Search even existed. Brave Search came out 2021.
Just because I post something, doesn't mean I endorse it, necessarily. It's part of a conversation that is bigger. Generally, I'm looking for what is being censored at any given moment.

Brave Search... under the umbrella of Brave... is partnered with Duck Duck Go.
Now, that's a fucking fact.
Duck Duck Go has recently gone full woke.
The implication is that Brave will be tainted by its partnership with Duck Duck Go, which has factually and admittedly started censoring search results.
So... I'd recommend investigating and comparing search results, using them both independently of each other.
Prima facie, there is a partnership and it is troubling.

From what I understand from that article and using brave for a long time, is that brave just allowed ddg as a search engine as it uses any number of search engines which you can set as a default. Even Google can still be used.
I don't think ddg has any means of getting data from brave or has any influence in braves business, but that's not to say brave is super safe and the best.
With a combination of brave browser and any search engine (qwant, yandex,searx, brave search etc) it is a lot better than using Google and chrome or Firefox etc
