You would actually be helping those companies by buying it from them. It would be better if Bed Bath and Beyond and others got to enjoy their my pillow stock for months and months and months.

You can buy one from him directly, or if you are trying to avoid the shipping, from a retailer. If you are going to buy from a retailer, wait a little bit. You don't know that they won't drop him in the next couple days. In which you would have helped them clear their stock of a product they don't plan to reorder. That's too nice a favor for them.

You could in theory return it in response to a future cancel. In fact that's a great idea. If anyone got one for Christmas and still have a gift receipt for it (or if for whatever reason you keep receipts like that around for your own purchases, wierdo), we could all do a big My Pillow return party. And then offset that by buying one from a better place. I guess more broadly you could return anything from those stores if you think you can get away with it. If you can't, go head and waste their time by trying. I can't wait for someone to return half of their kitchen appliances.

I'm keeping receipts from now on.

Good take. Always buy from the source if possible.
