The 'truth' is an idea which defies scrutiny. Censorship is the opposite of truth; it is the promotion of lies.

It appears that the very same disease of censorship on Voat was transmitted here to Poal during the great migration. There is a sizeable group of accounts which have taken control of popular subs, and then ban the truth from coming through, thereby promoting lies and growing the disease.

It is likely that these very same accounts are controlled opposition judging by their ardent and CONSTANT projection onto others of being a jew while their ideas are questioned, at which point they are permanently banned -- akin to a child unable handle contrary thought.

In their twisted world-view, they define a sub as 'property' for which they decree to deny access, yet Poal does not belong to them, and neither does speech (do you think they own your property @AOU ?).

The link attached is a conversation between @AntiClutch and myself regarding this very same topic of censorship and ownership which ultimately led to censoring of my speech on not just that sub, but 11 others controlled by him:

This egregious act would be comical if it weren't so chilling considering that some of these sub have more bans than posts... It is clear that already the specter of censorship is taking hold right here in one of the VERY LAST bastions of free-speech during a time when it is being eradicated all over the internet and all over the world. It may appear insignificant at first, but this is all it takes for Poal to become yet another dust-bowl of freedom.

I want to make sure I'm clear on all this. Let's say I make a sub about trains, for example, and it's just for talking about trains. Then, you pop in and make a bunch of comments and posts about airplanes. At what point can I ban you for not talking about trains? Or, can I not ban you for anything?

Or, are we just talking about a troll constantly popping in to say trains are gay? Similar, but different things.

This is an honest question since everyone is afraid of downvoting even the trolls. If you think I have any motive here and accuse me as such, kill yourself. It's just a question.

It would be off topic, but it is still speech. Anyone off topic will either have that pointed out to them or be ridiculed.

Spam however of the variety which is nonsensical or intentional to slide the conversation is not speech, and is fact another form of censorship. A PROPER mod would warn that person, and then give a temporary ban.

After the ridicule and warnings, can I ban you?

I consider forum sliding to often be spam, which I will downvote. Same thing for posting the same shit on 5 subs. That gets you 4 downvotes.

I'm more curious about question #1. When is a ban ok?

The best remedy to speech is more speech.

People often say '/pol/ is always right'. The reason for that is because everyone is free to speak.
