Here's a debate between Catholic academics and journalists whether or not Pope Benedict XVI validly resigned. The answer to this question directly addresses whether Jorge Mario Bergolio, commonly called "Pope Francis," was validly elected and installed as Pope. Surprisingly to me, one of the presenters refers to a poll of Catholics indicating that about half don't believe that Bergolio is the Pope.

If you're not a student of Catholic history (I'm not either), you may be surprised to learn that there have been dozens of cases of Anti-Popes throughout the history of the Church. The discussion about Pope Clement is illustrative of an example which is thought to be relevant here.

Invidious and youtube links can be found here. (inv.us.projectsegfau.lt)

While I'm not a Catholic, the question is not only whether Bergolio is or is not the valid Pope, but whether he is Catholic at all. He is basically a Communist (Liberation theology).

There was a time when "Is the Pope Catholic?" was merely a rhetorical question.

That part is in the video if you watched, and yes some of us Catholics are noticing.
