The Catholic church really attracts these people like magnets, doesn't it? You could try Orthodoxy. I did and I'm quite satisfied with it. I don't know if you're interested in finding another church though. If not, that's fine, but you need to find other ways of keeping the Lord in your thoughts.
I pray every day to God. Prayer works im a firm believer in that.
My parents are still devout which i cant understand. I have faith, never lost it. But i dont like men in dresses telling telling me how I should pray.
No I think catholicism just got most of the attention but it's prominent in every denomination. I grew up a Jehovah's Witness and it's filled with abuse but their lawyers were very successful at keeping it almost completely quiet. It was probably even worse than Catholics. It's in all abrahamic denominations.
Jehovah's Witness is basically Christian scientology, so the fact that you witnessed abuse doesn't surprise me at all.
Although Islam & Judaism are worse, there's nothing to stop an Arab or a Jew becoming a "Christian" pastor/ priest anyway. It's in cults like JW, or Mormonism, and it's in mega-church stuff/ Zionist weirdos, it's in Baptist churches and non-denominational, and it's not just "Abrahamic." I'm not saying I want to keep these sects around though, and if fear of eternal torture is your motivation for not being scum, then you are already scum, in my book. But are people seriously trying to argue that there are no Hindu paedophiles? no Buddhist paedophiles? There is plenty of evidence to the contrary. Freemasons are eclectic Neo-Pagan Gnostics, and we all know what kind of abominable things they get up to. Heathens may lack the structure that you see in Organized Religion, but there are still figures who families with children put their trust in, and these figures can fake being a Heathen just as much as they can fake being a Christian.
Heathens tend to only focus on tearing into other groups, why don't they discuss their own religious beliefs more? Accompanied with what they are drawing those beliefs from? Isn't it more like Atheism, where one Atheist could be against hedonism and child abuse and another could be a "MAP" who wants to lower the age of consent and ban home-schooling?
People ought to investigate pagan practices of ancient times in other places, so you can make accurate comparisons and draw proper connections. In Anatolia, male devotees sometimes worshipped Cybele (the Great Mother) by clamping their genitals off in a frenzy, and then going on to become 'Priestesses' in her Temples and servicing other male worshippers (Sacred Prostitution). In the Levant and Carthage, worshippers would show devotion to Baal through blood sacrifice, in exchange for blessings, the foremost of sacrifices being their own offspring. Aztecs and Mayans had similar practices for their Sun God. "Heathens" often identify themselves with the groups above, as "victims," and then go on to use the same exact rhetoric that Atheist Jews use against Colonial records of Cannibalism amongst the tribal populations they encountered or any European historical record which is mildly disparaging of another group, really.
