Yes, there has been much turmoil and heresy throughout history, but the major difference today is that the entire Church was infiltrated from top to bottom and the true Church is now underground and we don't have a Pope and if there is one we don't know who he is. Today we have an impostor RC church parading itself like it's the true RC church for the past 50 years. It's a major difference and unprecedented. Now you go further and say there were worse things in history. Nope. There were not. This is the worst crisis in history and cannot even be compared to anything in history. Your original comment was that there has always been bad Pope's and today is no different. Like I said in the beginning, that's a flawed argument because a true Pope can't commit heresy. Then you make the false accusation that a true Pope did commit heresy, which would mean Christ lied. I would take any other era of RC church history over the current era.
