Where did the writer state that the hierarchy of the Church prior to VII were sinless?
You took what the writer said out of context from your original comment. He is talking about heresy. Joe Biden is not Catholic by any means. Joe Biden's heresy is what is dividing the VII sect. Some think he is a heretic and some don't.
It is clear that Novus Ordo clergy and laity are divided not merely in accidentals and on minor concerns but on the most fundamental issues with regard to Joe Biden. This would have been unimaginable before the Second Vatican Council (1962-65), which was veritably the “Great Reset” for Catholicism.

Here's an excerpt:
To appreciate how important and serious this difference is between bad Catholic and non-Catholic, let us take a look at one of the most immoral Catholic Popes in history: Pope John XII, who reigned from 955 to 963. Prince Octavian (his birth name) was only 16 years of age when elected, and he was a complete moral reprobate
I truly appreciate you taking the time to have a thoughtful, intelligent discussion. It is much appreciated, and sadly, quite rare these days.
I see your point, but I still disagree. There have been many periods of turmoil and heresy within the history of our Church, and to say that something would have been "unimaginable" prior to V2 simply is not correct. There have been many worse things than "division ... on the most fundamental issues" in the history of our Church.
In all honesty, this is just a minor point within the article, and probably not worth all the commotion we are making about it :)
You're still not understanding. Yes, there has been much turmoil and heresy throughout history, but the major difference today is that the entire Church was infiltrated from top to bottom and the true Church is now underground and we don't have a Pope and if there is one we don't know who he is. Today we have an impostor RC church parading itself like it's the true RC church for the past 50 years. It's a major difference and unprecedented. Now you go further and say there were worse things in history. Nope. There were not. This is the worst crisis in history and cannot even be compared to anything in history.
Your original comment was that there has always been bad Pope's and today is no different. Like I said in the beginning, that's a flawed argument because a true Pope can't commit heresy. Then you make the false accusation that a true Pope did commit heresy, which would mean Christ lied.
I would take any other era of RC church history over the current era.
You're still not understanding.
Ha! The older I get, the more I realize how true this is. :-)
