I appreciate the honest reply (even if it is a little acidic).
In reply I would note that the bible specifically says the Mary is the Mother of God, and that faith without works is dead, so I would say that it is the Protestants that are the heretical ones for not following the bible.
the bible specifically says the Mary is the Mother of God
Not in question. Neither is her humanness (she sinned) and the fact that she also had other children after Jesus (wasn’t a perpetual virgin). Because that’s in the Bible, too.
and that faith without works is dead
Aww, that’s cute. But then again, what does the Bible say?
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” ~ 1 Corinthians 1:18
“For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish.” ~ 2 Corinthians 2:15
“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” ~ Matthew 7:14
“And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.” ~ Acts 8:36-38
Oh, that’s right; salvation is instantaneous.
so I would say that it is the Protestants
So that’s all else there is, huh?
Aww, that’s cute. But then again, what does the Bible say
that is exactly what the bible says. James 2:26.
salvation is instantaneous
faith is a choice. I choose to believe, and I try to ACT accordingly. none of the four quotes you provided prove anything you are trying to say. actually, the fourth quote actually proves my point (faith and works). why, because not only did they profess their faith, they ACTED by getting out of the chariot and being baptised.
please try again.
Actions are not a requisite of salvation. They are the result of salvation.
