Colossians 2:5 - For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit.

When you strip away the traditions of men, he is simply saying to be dead (figuratively) to the world, is to be joined with Christ.

Thats it. Full stop. To be "dead" to the world is to be "alive" in Christ.

Enough pearls though mate. Paul warned of the "other" Jesus, gospel and spirit that would usurp scriptures teachings.

Ive had enough of that "other" for one day.

I guarantee your “thoughtless, dreamless state” is Old Testament. It was the best anyone could hope for before Christ busted down the doors of Hades.
