One thing which typically characterizes more-conservative-type people is an unwillingness to charge into battle. In almost every instance you recall, the more aggressive side is the liberals, the Marxists, the godless — all of the above. They have a tenacity and zeal which is commendable, even if it is woefully misdirected. Bishop Sheen used to say, "Communists have no truth and all zeal. Catholics have all truth and no zeal."
